World-Renowned Sacred World Music Composer-Singer to Perform and Teach in Cold Spring Harbor, New York
The award-winning American sacred music composer and singer David Hykes, visiting from France, will present a concert of Harmonic Chant on Friday, February 15th at 8 p.m. in St. John's Church, 1670 Route 25A, in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, 11724. Harmonic Chant is a universal sacred music combining western sacred chant and transporting throat-singing techniques as found in Tuvan and Tibetan chant. Renowned violinist Yehudi Menuhin said, "David Hykes has opened a new dimension in music; he has in fact brought us the music of the spheres." Hykes's program will highlight Harmonic Chant in both a cappella and world music ensemble arrangements.
